Clay heart brooches plus some vintage finds

Hey! How have you been? I've been working on some Valentine's themed projects ^_^ I know it's cheesy and over-commercialised, but I love Valentine's Day! ^_^

I'm embroidering a pattern by Sublime Stitching, which I should have done to show you in my next post, but I've also made these super easy heart brooches ...

I think they are really cute!

All I did to make them was roll out some Fimo, cut out the hearts with an old biscuit cutter, and then embossed some words using my tiny alphabet stamps.

Then I just attached some badge backings with E6000.

This red one is my favourite! ^_^

The good thing about these is that you can wear them all together for a big impact, or just wear one for a more subtle look ^_^

Next up: op-shop finds! Scott and I went searching to today for waistcoats and bow-ties, and come home instead with dishes and a typewriter. Opps! We're just going to have to do more searching for vintage men's wear ... what a pity! ~_^

The dish above I think might be milk glass? I am not entirely sure if there is a special way to tell, apart from it being white and glass >_<

Anyway, I really like it; I think the pattern is pretty cool too!

My new typewriter (and my favourite find of today!) is a cream/ beige Olivetti Dora - it's very pretty and it even came with ribbons! Score! ^_^

Lastly, I got these two cute little dishes; the one with violets is from England, and the other is decorated with little shamrocks and is a piece of souvenir wear from (you guessed it) Ireland.

Do you have plans for Valentine's Day? Any suggestions for presents I should make (or buy!) for my nerdy, Star Wars obsessed husband? Let me know! ^_^

    1. Thanks Bec! I'm really happy about the typewriter, but we'll have to go op-shopping together and find you one too! ^_^

    1. It's like you read my mind, Kate! I had a talking Chewbacca plushie planned to make for Scott, but I've been having *a lot* of trouble with the talking mechanism so now it's just a furry looking thing with some vague resemblance to a Wookie (soft toys are not my forte! >_<)
